Treloan is working with artists Annie Lovejoy and Mac Dunlop to promote responsible tourism through activities that engage with, and celebrate the local environment and culture.

The Caravanserai project to date has hosted artists, writers, geographers, students, foragers.. interested in being at Treloan to explore possibilities and generate activities.

During the summer we hold regular wednesday evening poetry & music 'Fireside Sessions', in which local residents and Treloan visitors take part. They're hosted by Mac Dunlop who invites special guest performers alongside returning regulars such as J & B, the fiddle & guitar duo (who also led weekly stained glass workshops).

Another annual event is FEAST our local food banquet, the idea of FEAST is to support local food retailers / producers and create culinary delights to bring to the table - to help with this we've made up a list of food sources plus a recipe form so that your dish can be added to the website to share with others. For FEAST 2010 we were fortunate to have expert forager Robin Harford in residence leading wild food walks in preparation for the meal.

We have also produced a small guide book 'Discovering what's on our Doorstep' - Caravanserai's guidebook for Treloan is a 'must have' item for all ages, packed with local info, quirky anecdotes, drawings, poetry, stories, bushcraft and foraging recipes. A celebration of the locality, thanks to the wonderful contributions of everyone involved.
